Questions worth asking, in writing, before you sign:
- How is pay counted: per mile (which miles: practical route or household-goods miles), per hour, per load?
- Is there detention pay and layover pay, and from which hour?
- What home time do you get, and is it written down?
- Does the training come with a repayment agreement? How much would you owe if you leave, and for how long?
- Lease-purchase: who pays fuel, maintenance and insurance, and what happens to the money you paid if you quit?
